  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet active dry yeast (2 ¼ tsp)
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup whole milk (warm)
  • ⅓ cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 cup cranberries (fresh or dried)
  • Zest of 1 orange
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 8 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine warm milk and sugar; sprinkle yeast on top and let sit until bubbly.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour and salt. Add melted butter and yeast mixture; mix until a soft dough forms.
  3. Knead dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth. Place in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour.
  4. Prepare filling by mixing softened butter, sugar, cinnamon, cranberries, and orange zest in a bowl. Spread evenly over rolled-out dough.
  5. Roll the dough tightly into a log shape and cut into pieces about 2 inches thick.
  6. Arrange rolls in a greased baking pan and allow to rise again for 30 minutes. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  8. For frosting, mix softened cream cheese with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until creamy smooth.
