- 1 lb ground beef or lamb
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 2 eggs
- 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 4 sub rolls
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 2 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix ground beef/lamb, breadcrumbs, minced garlic, eggs, Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper gently until combined.
- Shape the mixture into golf ball-sized meatballs and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat; cook meatballs until browned on all sides (8–10 minutes).
- Pour marinara sauce over the meatballs in the skillet; reduce heat to low and simmer for 15–20 minutes.
- Preheat the broiler; top meatballs with mozzarella cheese and broil until melted.
- Slice sub rolls partially open and fill with meatballs and extra marinara if desired.
