Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef or lamb
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 eggs
  • 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 4 sub rolls
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix ground beef/lamb, breadcrumbs, minced garlic, eggs, Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper gently until combined.
  2. Shape the mixture into golf ball-sized meatballs and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat; cook meatballs until browned on all sides (8–10 minutes).
  4. Pour marinara sauce over the meatballs in the skillet; reduce heat to low and simmer for 15–20 minutes.
  5. Preheat the broiler; top meatballs with mozzarella cheese and broil until melted.
  6. Slice sub rolls partially open and fill with meatballs and extra marinara if desired.
