- 4 oz high-quality dark chocolate (chopped)
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix warm milk, sugar, and yeast; let sit until frothy (5 minutes).
- In another bowl, combine flour and salt; gradually add yeast mixture and knead until smooth.
- Shape softened butter into a square between parchment paper; refrigerate until firm.
- Roll dough into a rectangle; place butter in the center and fold edges over like an envelope.
- Roll out the dough into a long rectangle and fold into thirds; repeat twice more for lamination.
- Roll out dough one last time; cut triangles and place chocolate at the base before rolling tightly.
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C); let croissants rise on a lined baking sheet until doubled in size (30 minutes).
